Here are some of my pages. It's not really what I'd call a sketchbook, but this is how it turned out.

My sketchbook
Have tried to take a small video of the sketchbook... not sure if it will work OK. Please let me know... if not I will try again.

I have finished my sketchbook today - I think its dreadful!
Not at all what I wanted to do as the paper was too thin - even when using the pastels today the serated pages at the back started to tear.
A real shame.
So here are images from June > Dec from "Beneath the Surface" of Country Living Magazine.....
The initial thought was to make ink and watercolour sketches of microscopic images but the paper was.... yes you've guessed - too thin!

At last
I've had time to look at the blog at last. As you will probably guessed i've gone for Lines and Grids.
I have been playing, but not started the actual SB yet. I have probably confused myself with too many ideas as usual, but it will eventually sort itself out.

A few pages
Here are a few of my pages. My theme is lines and grids and I've really been enjoying it and been seeing lines and grids everywhere! I've been strengthening the pages with either transparent gesso or by gluing the pages together and it is starting to fill up nicely.
I started by stamping on several pages to get over the 'blank page syndrome'.
This is my rather inept sketch of the girders of a bridge in Pontypridd that I'd converted into black and white.

A Start!
Well I've finally started - not in graphite, ink or paint but with a scalpel! I've cut down through every page except the last, I feel very brave.

one and two
Well I've started!
went out and sketched a couple of days in a row. Two different angles are already emerging for me... one, literally what lies beneath the ground and two, what's beneath the external bark surface. Ceramics are in mind as a development but as to how on earth I'll achieve them? Lots of fun to be had I'm sure (as well as frustration)

with Inks . . .
To be honest,
the biggest pull for me
to work on this Sketchbook project was the people.
How exciting and fun to take part in a project with dear friends.
Who knows if i'll ever see one of the exhibitions
for these books. Airfare is expensive ! ha.
Now, if i could find my tripod,
i could take a non-blurry image.
in the meantime, i'll start off with these . . .
